ABOUT OUR STORE

Born from a scientist's search for truth in every bite

I am Susamman, a molecular biologist and founder of Heart & Harvesst. I spent years studying how living organisms interact with their environment — from pesticide-resistant insects in Italian vineyards to microbial communities deep inside fruit flies. I have seen, up close, what synthetic chemicals do to biological systems. And it changed the way I look at food forever.

Heart & Harvesst was not born in a boardroom. It was born in a laboratory — from the quiet, stubborn conviction that what we put into our bodies matters deeply, and that most of us deserve far more honesty about what we are actually eating.

“Organic is not a trend for us. It is a scientific position.”

When I source our Sundarbans honey, I know what colony collapse disorder looks like and why it happens. When I select our mustard oil, I understand exactly which adulterants are used and how they enter the supply chain. When I curate our Kashmiri saffron, I know exactly what adulteration looks like — the signs, the supply chain risks, and the sourcing red flags that most people would never notice.

This is what makes Heart & Harvesst different. Every product we carry has been chosen not just by taste, but by a trained eye that understands the science of purity. We source with the same rigour I applied in research — carefully, sceptically, and with deep respect for the truth.

Our name carries both halves of who we are. Heart — because this began with love: for honest food, for the people we feed, and for the farmers who grow with integrity. Harvesst — because we believe in abundance that is earned through patience, not shortcuts.

We are a small brand with a simple promise: what we sell to you is exactly what we would serve at our own table. No compromises. No fine print.

Because you deserve to know what you are eating. And I am someone who actually knows.
